***Doberman Pinschers require a Buccal Mucosal Bleeding Time (BMBT) test prior to surgery. The fee for the BMBT test is $45. If your Doberman Pinscher is unable to have surgery due to the BMBT test, a $5 anesthesia fee will be charged in addition to the $45 BMBT test.

Effective February 1, 2013, a 1-2 cm green line will be tattooed on male dogs and cats neutered at our clinics. For male dogs, the tattoo will be applied next to the penile shaft, inguinally. For male cats, the tattoo will be applied on the abdomen, in the area where a spay scar would be.

DISCOUNTED SURGERY FEES

We offer discounted surgery fees for low-income clients, residents of Gloucester County, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. To receive the discount, you must provide (1) photo ID and (2) the first two pages of your 2014 Federal Income Tax Return or proof of participation in certain government assistance programs. Gloucester County residents must provide (1) Photo ID and (2) proof of residence. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations must provide their IRS Determination Letter or, if the organization’s application to the IRS for 501(c)(3) status is pending, a copy of the application. Documentation must be provided to People for Animals no later than 2 business days before your appointment. You will be contacted within 1 business day of receipt of your documentation whether you have been approved for the discount.

If an animal is declined for surgery or is found to be already spayed or neutered, and rabies and distemper vaccines were administered, the price for each vaccine will be $19.

Important Information

On the day of your appointment,

      • Dogs should arrive at 7:15 AM.
      • Hillside: Cats should arrive at 8:15 AM.
      • Robbinsville: Cats should arrive at 7:45 AM.

Dogs must be on a leash. Cats must be in individual plastic carriers.

Pick up your animal the same day:

      • Hillside: 3:30 PM for dogs; 4:30 PM for cats
      • Robbinsville: 4:00PM for dogs (Tuesday – Thursday); 4:30 PM for cats (Tuesday – Thursday); 3:30 PM for dogs (Friday); 4:00PM for cats (Friday)

You will receive postoperative instructions at that time. We do not keep pets overnight at our clinic!

    • You must pay for services in the morning when you drop off your pet. We accept Cash and Credit/Debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and Discover). SORRY, WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHECKS OR AMERICAN EXPRESS.
    • You MUST call the clinic where you have your appointment immediately to reschedule if any of the following pertains to your pet.
      • Your adult pet ate anything after midnight the night before surgery
      • Your pediatric (kittens or puppies under 4 month of age) has eaten after 6am
      • Your dog has gone into heat. As this could be more risky for your pet.
      • Your pet is coughing, sneezing, vomiting or has diarrhea.
      • Your pet is currently on any medication (excluding heartworm preventative).
